After the reading performance of Bolero, András Visky asked me why I chose drama. I was not able to answer his question then, but now, after two years and other attempts, I would tell him that I chose it because you cannot talk beside the point in drama. In drama, there are no landscape descriptions, no portraits or other still-lifes. You need to relate everything through those who do not want to tell everything. You need to tell their secrets, although they resist. They fight tooth and nail against any opening up – this is the greatest challenge of drama writing for me. (Péter Demény)
