Anamnesis, a joint production of the Katona József Theatre and the Szputnyik Shipping Company, adapts for the stage the situation of the Hungarian public health system based on stories from the audience and on lectures from doctors working in different professional fields. The musical performance is absurd, extremely funny, and fast paced. Very thoughtful, yet also frivolous. With wonderful acting, awesome background work, and an impressively relaxed direction, the production focuses on a theme that touches everyone to the core. Sickness. Death. Healing. Losing a friend or a relative. Sudden tragedy. The anomalies of the health system. Corruption. Advertising. The death business. Blood and dissection. Exhausted health system employees breaking records for length of time awake. Ripped-off patients. Malpractice. Doctors performing miracles...
