Stage exercises inspired by the work of Jonathan Swift

This series of performative meditations coordinated by the director Silviu Purcărete, proposes a unique and novel approach of Jonathan Swift’s work, where fantasy blends with a savage political satire. A number of the images presented to the public with an original score by Shaun Davey, explore themes of voyage, dream exile, immigration, emigration, solitude and togetherness.

The director uses a number of theatrical techniques - the game of shadows, living puppets, all in a contest of dimensions, an aesthetic of underdeveloped or overdeveloped bodies. An essay performance, built and understood in the logic of dreams that brings together Jomathan Swift’s imaginary with the stirring fantasy of the set designer, Dragos Buhagiar, coordinated with a misanthropic intuition by Silviu Purcărete, around the theme of the decay of humanity.
