KTO Theatre from Poland brings a veritable feast of physicai theatre inspired by the life and dramatic death of Czech writer Bohumil Hrabal.
„I’ll Sell the House in which I Can Live No More” is a theatrical seance invoking Hrabal's life and work, performed without a single spoken word.
„As far as humanity is concerned, I nave no illusions” - Bohumil Hrabal
Hrabal's philosophy is the very essence of the fragile beauty of this production. The mute expression captures desolation. The characters in Hrabal's world reveal imminent truths. In a mix of the real and fantastic, this performance touches on important moments: birth, baptism, first holy communion, marriage, and death. A visually arresting piece, „I’ll Sell the House in which l Can Live No More” leads the audience into the magic world of Hrabal's characters. Without words, there is only the sound of superb music and a story full of surprises. Highly evocative, this is a wise and charming story in which one can detect the fragrance of Hrabal's blueberry wine and kisses never returned.
