The Cluj Theater’s “What's It All About?” personal development centered theater education program celebrates its 10th anniversary this September.
What's It All About? is the country’s first personal development centered theater education program, which—with the exception of the forced hiatus during the pandemic—has been continuously available for the theater’s current performances over the past 10 years.
The thematic preparatory sessions, followed by post-performance processing sessions, have consistently provided opportunities for self-awareness, personal development, critical thinking, effective communication, responsible attitudes, authentic presence, mutual attention, and enjoyable collaboration.
The program contributes to the younger generation becoming a socially sensitive audience that loves and understands theater, and its drama-based nature fills a gap in educational institutions. The theater education program has become a well-known and regularly sought-after educational activity for educational institutions in Cluj, while also attracting student groups from Aiud to Gherla, and from Zalău through Huedin to Turda. It has even reached small towns where students were able to attend the theater for the first time in their lives.
Over the past decade, thousands of students and hundreds of teachers have participated in the program.
The theater is celebrating the anniversary with the following series of events:
September 19, Friday at 6:00 PM − preview performance of I Am the Wind. Themes: attachment, letting go
Venue: Opera Studio (12 Samuil Micu Street)
Saturday, September 20, 11:00 AM – 10 YEARS OF ESziK or Isszák? – a retrospective celebration, also marking the start of the 2025/26 educational season
