ACTRESS ZSUZSA VAJDA HAS PASSED AWAY (1955–2026)

It is with deep sadness that we learned of the passing of Zsuzsa Vajda on March 3, 2026 a former member of the Hungarian Theater in Cluj between 1978 and 1990, who died at the age of 71.

Throughout her career, audiences saw her in numerous roles on the Cluj stage: Anna (Pusztai szél, dir. Júlia Bereczky, 1978), Polish Girl (Férfiakat Szelistyének!, dir. János Márton, 1978), Ismene (Antigone, dir. Endre Senkálszky, 1979), Madwoman (The Lower Depths, dir. György Harag, 1979), Pulcinella and Tündér (Pinocchio, dir. Gábor Dehel, 1979), Julka (Lóvátett lovagok, dir. Béla Horváth, 1979), Mary (An Imaginary Report on an American Rock Festival, dir. Béla Horváth, 1980), Mária Józsa (More Than Heroes, dir. Gábor Dehel, 1981), Aphrodite (Hippolytus, dir. Endre Senkálszky, 1981), Mrs. Dengelegi and Báthory’s Mistress (We, Gábor Bethlen, dir. Ferenc Kovács, 1982), Vanda Serafim (The Magpies, dir. Ágnes Szabó, 1984), Tímea and Csorbadzsi’s daughter (The Man with the Golden Touch, dir. János Márton, 1984), Susane and Marcela (The Follies of Love, dir. Júlia Bereczky, 1985), Veruska (My Dear Children, dir. Gábor Dehel, 1986), and Alfonsine Plankenhorst (The Baron's Sons, dir. Gábor Dehel, 1989).

All those who loved and respected her may accompany her on her final earthly journey on Thursday, March 19, 2026, starting at 10:45 a.m. from the main entrance of Cimitirul Central. The Unitarian funeral service and burial will begin at 11:00 a.m. at the gravesite, where she will then be laid to rest.
