Hobo 80 Anniversary Concert at the Hungarian Theatre of Cluj

László Földes Hobo celebrated his 80th birthday with an arena concert in Budapest in February this year. In the months that followed, he embarked on a national and international tour with his jubilee concert, Hobo 80, one of the stops of which will be the Hungarian Theatre of Cluj on Friday, December 19, at 7 pm.

László Földes Hobo is a singer, performer, songwriter and writer, one of the most iconic figures in Hungarian popular music and performing arts. His career started in the late 1970s when he founded the Hobo Blues Band, which became one of the most influential bands in Hungarian blues and rock culture. His art is characterised by an astute continuation of the blues tradition, as well as a sense of social sensitivity and a strong connection to literature. Many of his performances and musical theatre productions draw on the works of authors such as Attila Joseph, Vysocki, Jim Morrison and Allen Ginsberg.

The anniversary concert will feature his most famous songs and the most important masterpieces of his career - a synthesis of a fantastic oeuvre. The line-up reflects a snapshot of his career, featuring legendary songs by the Hobo Blues Band, as well as some of the defining tracks of his career and 4-5 new pieces.

The concert will feature Zoltán Kiss (guitar), István Gál (drums), Attila György, (bass guitar, vocals), Szilárd Büdi (harmonica, guitar, vocals), Zoltán Nemes, (keyboards, vocals), Viktor Serföző (sound engineer).
