Mary Stuart will be performed at the 34th National Theatre Festival in Bucharest on October 22 at 7 pm. Directed by Diego de Brea, Friedrich Schiller's play will be presented to audiences in the Studio Hall of the I. L. Caragiale National Theatre of Bucharest.
“Imre Éva showcases her talent in a large-scale and deeply dramatic composition. The action focuses on the trial of Mary Stuart and therefore the appearance of her rival in the person of Elizabeth I of England is overshadowed by her personality. Tötszegi Zsuzsa portrays a woman with human reactions to her imprisoned cousin, but places political interests above all else. The actress portrays a stern person, in command of her power to persuade others.” – writes Adrian Ţion about the production.
Cluj audiences will be able to see the performance on October 19 at 8 pm on the main stage of the Cluj theatre.
The production is directed and set designed by Diego de Brea, with the collaboration of Kata Gyarmati, dramaturg, and Gyopár Bocskai, costume designer. The lighting design is the work of Romeo Groza while the video design has been created by Péter Buksa. Andrea Viola is the assistant director of the production.
The role of Mary Stuart is played by Éva Imre, with Zsuzsa Tőtszegi, Ervin Szűcs, Gábor Viola, Miklós Bács, József Bíró and Balázs Bodolai in additional roles.
Tickets for the Bucharest performance of Mary Stuart can be purchased at bilete.ro, while tickets for the Cluj performances can be purchased at the theatre's box office (weekdays between 10 am and 2 pm) and online at huntheater.biletmaster.ro.
