Taxi-driver John Smith seems a typical boring Englishmen. But as a matter of fact, he is living a double life with two wives living in two neighboring districts of London. His precisely calculated daily schedule is disrupted because of a small accident one Tuesday evening. He is late to both his homes, so both of his wives report him to the police. What follows is a nightmare-like, crazy rush in which the different lies call forth other subsequent hair-raising ones, and Mr. Smith’s life gets more and more complicated.

The world-famous English actor and playwright Ray Cooney’s burlesque has been played with great success both in Europe and in the United States. This exquisite performance – directed by Attila Keresztes – evokes the never-falling tradition of a good vaudeville.

Opening date: December 31, 2004.
