The artistic awards for the 2023/2024 season were presented at the calendar year's final company meeting on December 27 at the Hungarian Theatre of Cluj.
Based on the votes of the theatre's Artistic Council, the following persons received the Artistic Award for their outstanding performances in the 2023/24 season:
Eszter Román (for her performance in The Nightingale), Zsolt Gedő (for his performance in The Nightingale) and Andrea Kali (for her performance in The Misunderstanding).
Special prizes were awarded to Réka Zongor, Stage Manager, Anikó Hetman, Economist, Personnel Officer, Ágnes Mucsi, Ticket Attendant and Gáspár Pászka, Press and Online Communication Officer.
The Technical Grand Prize was awarded this year to stage manager Enikő Albert following a decision by the Arts Council.
The Company Award as well as the Artistic Council's Grand Prize was awarded to Éva Imre for her outstanding performances in Demons, Mary Stuart and The Misunderstanding.
The most prestigious award of the Arts Council, the Bánffy Miklós Award, was awarded to set and costume designer Gyopár Bocskai for her unique visual design for the production of The Nightingale.
For the 2023/24 season, the Vlad Mugur Prize was awarded to Adrian Damian for the set design of The Misunderstanding.
The Vlad Mugur Prize was founded in 2006 by the Hungarian Theatre of Cluj, in recognition of the work of artists who are not members of the company. In the past, the Artistic Council awarded the prize to the following creators: director Mihai Măniuțiu (2006), set and costume designer Carmencita Brojboiu (2007), choreographer Vava Ștefănescu (2008), director Silviu Purcărete (2009), composer Vasile Șirli (2009), mask designer Ilona Varga-Járó (2009), director Andrei Șerban (2010), director Matthias Langhoff (2011), director Robert Woodruff (2012), director Kinga Mezei (2013), director András Urbán (2014), set designer Helmut Stürmer (2015), set designer Martin Chocholoušek (2016), and director Yuri Kordonsky (2017), director Adrian Sitaru (2018), videographer András Rancz (2019), set designer Helmut Stürmer (2020), director Attila Vidnyánszky Jr. (2021, 2023), costume designer Lia Manțoc (2022).
