THE HUNGARIAN THEATRE OF CLUJ PRODUCTION OF RELATIVES FEATURED WITHIN THE REFLEX INTERNATIONAL THEATRE FESTIVAL

On Tuesday, May 23, at 7pm, the Hungarian Theatre of Cluj production of Relatives, directed by László Bocsárdi, will be the guest performance at the 5th Reflex International Theatre Festival, organised by the Tamási Áron Theatre of Sfântu Gheorghe. The performance will be followed by an audience discussion in the theatre's foyer.

"The Reflex festival, as the name suggests, aims to reflect through the language of theatre on the world around us, bringing to Sfântu Gheorghe outstanding contemporary performances from Central and Eastern European countries. In this way, local audiences can get in touch with European theatres, the audience in Sfântu Gheorghe will understand the different languages used in theatre and will also be able to understand the experiments of the Tamási Áron Theatre, said festival director László Bocsárdi." - as quoted by the Maszol.ro portal.

The performance can be seen in Cluj on several other occasions this season: the stage adaptation of Zsigmond Móricz's novel can be viewed on May 26, June 7 and 30, all from 7 pm in the studio space created on the theatre's Main Stage.

“The many subtle nuances and details of the clear and subtle direction, as well as the sumptuous visuals and choreography, are to be praised. László Bocsárdi confidently chose the actors of the Hungarian Theatre of Cluj for the key roles, and their combined performances leave the audience with the impression that a blend of irony, playfulness, authenticity and depth is created on stage.” – writes Judit Kiss about the production.

The lead role of the play, István Kopjass, is portrayed by Gábor Viola, with additional roles by Emőke Kató, Enikő Györgyjakab, Miklós Bács, Áron Dimény, Loránd Farkas, Attila Orbán, József Bíró, Éva Imre, Csilla Varga, Gizella Kicsid, Tamás Kiss, Zsolt Gedő, Gergő Bíró, Hunor Fazakas, Gergő Filep and Botond Tulogdi.
