On Friday, 13 May, at 8 pm, the Hungarian Theatre of Cluj will host a Literary Salon with Attila Bartis, a Térey Fellow and Hungarian Laurel Wreath-winning writer, born in Târgu Mureş. The event will be hosted and moderated by littérateur Anna Juhász. Attila Bartis's books will be available for purchase on the spot, and the author has also graciously agreed to sign the books.

"The first Literary Caravan that took place in January provided many opportunities to meet our guests: we had sold-out performances with our author guests to discuss the creation of books, literary predecessors and special dates such as the 100th anniversary of the birth of Ágnes Nagy Nemes and the 125th anniversary of the birth of Áron Tamási. This spring, upon returning to Transylvania, we will continue this journey, visiting new towns and cities, this time presenting a beautiful open-air Tamási exhibition to the Szeklerland audience", said Anna Juhász, littérateur and Director of the Petőfi Cultural Agency's Special Programmes.

"We have only one homeland: the Hungarian language" - with this idea of Sándor Kányádi, the Petőfi Cultural Agency's flagship programme, the Literary Caravan, was launched at the beginning of 2022, which serves the cause of the unified Hungarian language and culture by presenting traditional and contemporary Hungarian literature. The Literary Caravan road-show is planned to take literature on a ‘journey’ to Hungary and beyond the borders of the country, especially in the Carpathian Basin and Transylvania.

The second Literary Caravan will take place in May 2022 in Transylvania. From 11 to 15 May, for five days, writers and creative guests will be presented in three cities and at a special book event in Târgu Mureş, Cluj-Napoca and Miercurea-Ciuc, and the organisers are preparing for the special events by holding thematic, unconventional literature classes, Salon events, and book fair programmes for the audience of the Miercurea-Ciuc Book Fair.

Tickets for the Literary Salon in Cluj can be purchased at the theatre's ticket office or online at www.biletmaster.ro.
