The stage presents itself as a parabola of the illusory, of the possible, a palatial immanence of a kind of mystery. The stage transforms reality into something else, makes it wanly doubtful, placing one somehow at the limit of nonentity. The vaudevillian personages of the little square are looking at the stage and at the grotesque anguish of their own passions which is perceived as gratuitous. The bizarre catharsis, like a mystical kneeling, makes the perception of reality inextricably enigmatic.  The theatre and the reality, moreover: how real is the theatre and how theatrical is the reality - this is the question which I try to answer with this performance based on the Goldoni,s Il campiello.  Mona Chirilă
