The Corvineum Foundation was created in 1996 with the aim of supporting the Hungarian language theatre and acting education in Transylvania.

During its existence spanning over more than two decades, the Foundation has made a significant contribution in helping the Hungarian Theatre of Cluj achieve its artistic goals, alongside raising its profile and recognition on a local, national and international level.

The Foundation supports artistic excellence: the Miklós Bánffy Award, and the company and artistic awards offered by the theatre each year are made possible due to the Foundation’s contributions. Several domestic and foreign guest performances and performance exchanges took place with the Foundation’s support. The festivals organized by the theatre (György Harag Memorial Days, Vlad Mugur Memorial Days, the Interferences International Theatre Festival, UTE Fest) could not have been created and carried out without the without the contribution of the Foundation.

In these difficult times, your support is especially important for the theatre. Our income expenditures are significant, the creation of new productions in the second half of the season and the organization of this year's Interferences Festival have become highly problematic.
