AN EVENING WITH THE THREE KIRÁLYS ON THE OCCASION OF HUNGARIAN POETRY DAY

The Studio Hall will house a special event on Thursday, April 11, at 6 pm, marking Hungarian Poetry Day at the Hungarian Theatre of Cluj.

The poet dynasty made up of László Király, Farkas Király and Zoltán Király will be the guests of The Three Királys, an evening of poetry, where each poet will give sound to their own poetic voice, while sharing a common trait, since they all possess a distinct, candid and obviously modern poetic language.

The pretext for organizing the event is to celebrate the birthday of László Király, who recently turned 75. The multiple award winning poet – recipient of the Attila József Prize, the Knight’s Cross of the Hungarian Order of Merit, and the Laurel Wreath Award of Hungary - is one of the foremost figures of contemporary Hungarian literature. His sons, Farkas Király and Zoltán Király - who has recently received the József Attila Prize himself -, are following in his footsteps.

The conversation will focus mainly on the topics of Cluj, the relationship between fathers and sons, about outspokenness, political correctness and hypocrisy, parallel life paths, and last but not least poetry.

Gábor Tompa will be the host of the event, with the participation of actors Áron Dimény, Róbert Laczkó Vass, and Csaba Marosán.

Tickets costing 5 lei can be purchased at the theatre’s ticket office as well as online at www.biletmaster.ro.
