The Hungarian Theatre of Cluj offers a last minute ticket discount for the Interferences International Theatre Festival’s opening performance, which will take place on Thursday, November 22nd.
The Viennese Volkstheater will open the festival with IPHIGENIA AT AULIS | OCCIDENT EXPRESS, directed by Anna Badora. It is the first guest performance of the company in Cluj. The price of a ticket for the above-mentioned performance is 30 lei, seniors and students will be able to purchase it for 25 lei. The tickets are available at the theatre’s ticket office, as well as online at www.biletmaster.ro.
The protagonists of Iphigenie in Aulis are sitting around in ancient Greece and waiting. Among them, there are a few soldiers: Odysseus, Agamemnon, Menelaus. On the other hand, the characters of Occident Express are running for their lives, in 2015. These are simple people: Haifa, Nasim, Sadiq. In Euripides' tragedy, all want one thing: to burn the city of Troy down to the ground. In Massini's drama, all they want to do is to get away from the war, to leave scorched-earth behind, to reach the Promised Land - the continent of Europe, praised for peace and prosperity.
The performance will take place on Thursday, November 22, at 6.30 pm, at the Main Hall of the Hungarian Theatre of Cluj, and will have Hungarian, Romanian and English surtitles.
