The theme of this year's edition is War. With the performances as well as the complementary events taking place during the nine days of the festival, our intention is to start a dialogue concerning the 100thanniversary of the end of World War I, addressing the various confrontations of (the seemingly endless) troubled times through the productions put forth by several of the most important contemporary theatre companies in the world.

The Cluj audiences will have the opportunity of experiencing the productions of such outstanding creators as Toni Servillo, Luk Perceval, Milo Rau, Eimuntas Nekrošius, Anna Badora, Gábor Tompa, Cezary Tomaszewski, Csaba Horváth, Balázs Benő Fehér, András Urbán, Attila Vidnyászky jr., Ilan Ronen, Adrian Sitaru, Klim Kozinsky and Stathis Livathinos

One of the most exciting performances of this year's festival will be Elvira, a performance by Milan’s Piccolo Teatro, directed by and featuring the same Toni Servillo, who is the protagonist of one of the cult films of recent years, La grande bellezza. Shakespeare’s Macbeth will also be featured in the festival, staged by one of the most important directors of our time, Luk Perceval; and the Schaubühne from Berlin will also be returning to Cluj, with Milo Rau’s Compassion. The History of the Machine Gun, as well as the production of Sons of a Bitch directed by the highly acclaimed Lithuanian creator Eimuntas Nekrošius.

Additionally, the schedule of the performances will be enriched also by complementary events: Tiff House will host daily conversations with the guest creators, alongside exhibitions, conferences, book launches, and concerts.
