ILLEGITIMATE HONORS THREE FESTIVAL INVITATIONS IN OCTOBER

The Hungarian Theatre of Cluj’s production of Illegitimate, directed by Adrian Sitaru, has been invited to participate at three theatre festivals this October.

The company presented with great success the production to the audience of the Satu Mare Transit Feszt International Multicultural Theatre Festival, at the beginning of October. Then, on October 14, Illegitimate will be featured within the program of the International Meetings of the National Theatre in Cluj, as well as within the FESTin pe Bulevard Festival, organized by the Nottara Theatre in Bucharest. The theme of the festival’s 6th edition is the crisis of communication; Illegitimate has been selected for the festival's competition and will be presented twice at the Studio Hall of the Odeon Theatre of Bucharest, namely on Tuesday, October 16, at 12.30 pm and 8 pm, respectively.

The production centers around a disintegrated, confused family, that is lacking the presence of a mother, where each person struggles with their own prejudices and is right in their own way. According to director Adrian Sitaru “it is a miniature image of the world we live in, of our blindness, and inevitable ignorance, due to the way we perceive things differently and in a deformed way, may we be ordinary people, or philosophers. We go through life wearing invisible goggles, blinkers or colored glasses, we only see what we want and it becomes convenient for us to only notice what we have learnt to see.”
