ZSOLT BOGDAN WINS THE UNITER AWARD FOR BEST ACTOR IN A SUPPORTING ROLE

Zsolt Bogdán won the award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role at the 26th UNITER Gala held at Alba Iulia on Monday, May 7, for his portrayal of Roy Cohn in Angels in America I-II, a production directed by Victor Ioan Frunză.

The jury panel who decided upon the UNITER Awards was made up of set designer Dragoş Buhagiar, theatre critic Marina Constantinescu, actors Marcel Iureş and Ana Ularu, and director Alexa Visarion.

This is Zsolt Bogdán's third UNITER Award, having already been honored with the most prestigious prize within the Romanian theatrical profession for the portrayals of Bergman (Cries and Whispers, director: Andrei Şerban, 2010) and Faustus (The Tragical History of Doctor Faustus, director: Mihai Măniuţiu, 2003).

The next performance of the two-part production of Angels in America will take place on May 27 and 31, at the Studio Hall of the Hungarian Theatre of Cluj. The cast of the play which premiered in December 2017 consists of Zsolt Bogdán, Péter Árus, Éva Imre, Ervin Szűcs, Balázs Bodolai, Emőke Kató, Szabolcs Balla, Tekla Tordai, with Adriana Grand as set and costume designer.
