GUEST PERFORMANCE OF THE BLIND AT THE DESZKA FESTIVAL IN DEBRECEN

The Hungarian Theatre of Cluj’s production of The Blind will be presented within the DESZKA Festival in Debrecen, Hungary, on Friday, April 13. The 12th edition of the event organized by the Csokonai Theatre will feature Hungarian dramas that premiered in the last season. The Blind is scheduled on Friday, April 13, at 9 pm, in the Main Hall of the Csokonai Theatre.

The performance directed by Botond Nagy “does not promise anything, nor does it offer any explanations. It does not want to appear anything more than it is: a collage. A collage about the times we were born into, in which we get to be born into for millennia, about our nonsense, and how we seem to speak to each other and not with each other, about our longing for attention and love.”

“Do we really see? Do we see dreams happening? Do people make us believe that the dream that we see before us is in fact reality? Is this beneficial for us? Do we feel at home in it? Aren’t we closer to ourselves if we do not see, but just keep dreaming?” – asks Márta Bodó regarding the performance.

Actors Gábor Viola, Loránd Váta, Ervin Szűcs, Kinga Ötvös, János Platz, Csaba Marosán, Gizella Kicsid, Emőke Kató, Melinda Kántor, Éva Imre, Loránd Farkas, Balázs Bodolai, Péter árus and Csilla Albert make up the cast of the production.
