THE HUNGARIAN THEATRE OF CLUJ JOINS THE ARTISTS FOR ARTISTS CAMPAIGN

The Hungarian Theatre of Cluj joins the Artists for Artists national charity campaign organized by the The Romanian Association of Theatre Artists (UNITER). As part of the campaign, the ticket proceeds of the two-evening production of Angels in America I-II that will take place on March 10 and 11 will be donated for the benefit of artists who are going through health or financial difficulties. The Cluj public can support this effort by purchasing tickets for these performances at the theatre’s ticket office.

Anyone can join the 17th edition of the campaign; donations can be made to the Theatre Solidarity Fund (Fondul de Solidaritate Teatrală) directly to a bank account that has been set up for this purpose at Raiffeisen Bank (account number: RO40RZBR0000060007801286).

Angels in America is a colorful portrayal of the United States of America in the 1980s, depicting the time of Ronald Reagan's presidency and the outbreak of the AIDS epidemic. All the characters of the play belong to a minority group - gays, Jews, Mormons. Angels in America is about the "great journey" that most of the characters are on, that of reevaluating their destiny and trying to face it. The performance was recently nominated for four awars by the The Romanian Association of Theatre Artists (Best Actor, Best Supporting Actress, Best Supporting Actor, Best Director).

The two-evening production of Angels in America will take place on March 10 at 7 pm, and March 11 at 6 pm, in the Studio Hall of the Hungarian Theatre of Cluj. Tickets for these performances can be purchased at the theatre’s ticket office.
