THREE GUEST PERFORMANCES OF HOMEMADE AT SEVERAL THEATRE FESTIVALS THIS AUTUMN

In the months of September and October, Homemade, the Hungarian Theatre of Cluj’s devised theatre project will take part in three theatre festivals.

Firstly, the production directed by Márta Vargyas will be featured within the 9th edition of the dráMA Contemporary Theatrical Encounter, organized at Odorheiu Secuiesc. The aim of the dráMA festival is to offer a meeting place to contemporary Hungarian and Romanian dramas, as well as to promote contemporary theatre as such. The performance will take place on September 22, at the Studio Hall of the Tomcsa Sándor Theatre, preceded by a discussion about the rehearsal process between playwrights Réka Biró and Katalin Deák, and the audience.

The production focused on the problems faced by contemporary families will be presented in Bucharest and Gheorgheni this October. Homemade will be performed in Bucharest on October 9, at the Fest(in) pe Bulevard festival, organized by the Nottara Theatre, within the Crises of teenage years section.

On Friday, October 13, the play will be included within the 12th edition of the Colloquium of Minorities' Theatres, organized in Gheorgheni.

The project is a creative process combined with a research endeavor that intends to start a dialogue concerning the contemporary state of families living in Romania. “Our goal is to get familiarized with the relationships arising within families, so as to be able to address them using the instruments of contemporary art. We are confident that this event will help our community to become aware of the problems that exist within the family, and to start a dialogue about them, while jointly considering possible solutions to these issues.” - stated the creative team consisting of actors, playwrights, acting and dramaturgy students about the production.
