Hormone - The Premiere of a Performance Installation at the Hungarian Theatre of Cluj

The premiere of Hormone, directed by Ferenc Sinkó, will take place on Saturday, May 6, at 8 pm, in the Studio Hall of the Hungarian Theatre of Cluj.
According to the director Ferenc Sinkó, the production is best described as a theatrical installation that has no linear story. At the same time, this theatrical form is also an invitation addressed to audience members to slow down, and let go of the compulsion to interpret narratives and just receive what is offered patiently. One of the interesting aspects of the production is that it does not present a state of readiness, but rather attempts to illustrate and experience the process by which the members of a community - made up of viewers and creators - strive to understand each other, and to coexist - said dramaturg Panna Adorjáni.
Hormone is an attempt to unite the artistic mediums of installation, music and movement, in order to create a space in which performers and spectators can coexist. It is a sprawling and uninterrupted flow concerning the evolution of a group, being also a temporal gift, during which the viewer is given the opportunity to reflect about togetherness and solitude.
During the creative process of the work, getting acquainted with the group dynamic as well as paying attention to one another played crucial roles. The actors who have participated in the creation of the production have stated that the creative process had proven to be quite a challenge for them, for their task was not to mold a role in the traditional sense, but rather build on their own, personal presence.
The creators of the production are: actors Francisco Alfonsin, András Buzási, Áron Dimeny, Júlia Laczó, Attila Orbán, Kinga Ötvös; dramaturg Panna Adorjáni; assistant to the director Nóra Balázs; set designer Carmencita Brojboiu, costume designer Gyopár Bocskai, bhkata - acoustic elements, Radu Bogdan - video projections; collaborator Csilla Albert, as well as Levente Borsos, responsible for special effects.
Next performance: Saturday, May 14, at 8 pm. Tickets can be purchased online at www.biletmaster.ro, as well as at the theater’s ticket office daily between 10 am and 2 pm, and 90 minutes before performances.
