The members of the hunting party come together in a shooting-box in the middle of a forest cankered by several mysterious diseases. The princely couple, a minister, a writer and the minister’s miscellaneous subordinates are preparing to hunt, but meanwhile their own exixtence becomes uncertain from one moment to the next. A whole world passes in front of our eyes, perhaps the well-known monarchy of the operettas, perhaps the great imperial experiences of history. Familiar figures, well-known situations – all tragically elevating.
Opening date: February 2, 2008. Running time: 2 hours and 20 minutes with one intermission. |
